Macclesfield Accommodation Care and Concern Limited (MACC) is a company with charitable status that provides supported accommodation for young people aged 16 to 24 years who are homeless or are due to become homeless imminently. Formed in 1989, MACC initially acted as a referral service to local landlords for young people who were homeless. In February 1993 we acquired two properties (owned by North British Housing Association now called Places for Places) which enabled us to accommodate 13 young people. The properties on Glegg Street and Cumberland Street provided us with the ability to accommodate and support young people to develop the skills needed to be able to live independently.
In January 2010 MACC in partnership with Plusdane Housing Group opened Watermill House a purpose built project consisting of 10 one bedroom flats plus training/ social room that raised the standard of accommodation and facilities and demonstrates to the young people we work with that they are valued members of the community.
